On the streets of Tunisia..
After spending the last three years living in Tunisia I have this overwhelming need to show people the true face of the Muslim people. It has been the driving force behind most of my work. There is nothing more fulfilling for me then taking my camera around town here in Tunisia photographing people in any capacity. There is so much beauty in everyday life! Human beings, amazing and resilient, it never ceases to amaze me. No matter what the conditions they keep a smile on their face and passion in their hearts. It is truly inspiring and uplifting. My time in Tunisia and with Muslim people has changed me in the most amazing ways. I hope my work will bring you just a little bit closer to this misunderstood and misrepresented culture. My heart aches when I am away. Even though I don't speak much Arabic yet a smile says a lot more then any words could say and is often all you need. I feel so grateful that my husband is Tunisian and I have been able to know this amazing country.
